If you want a great place to easily have an urban feel for part of your senior photo session and a nature setting for another part, Stevens Point offers great variety!
I shoot a lot of senior photos in the Waupaca area and don’t get me wrong, I love it there! But when I have a senior who is either not from Waupaca in the first place, or just wants to be somewhere different than most of the other seniors in their class, I want to head to Stevens Point. Downtown has so many different buildings, colors and textures for great senior photos that we can get a ridiculous amount of variety in a real short time. One of my favorite bridges to shoot is down there too!
If you want some water in your shots, we’re right on the Wisconsin River for the big stuff. Or Iverson Park has readily accessible spots that are shallow enough to wade in. Schmeekle Reserve is right by downtown as well and that’s a gorgeous area. Stevens Point just has everything right there. And if we’re there on the right night we might even hear the music playing on the square.
I can just about guarantee there are some cool places I haven’t found because every time I walk around a new corner there seems to be a spot I want to shoot. I was only there twice last year so here are some of my favorites from those sessions. The cover of my Senior Experience magazine was even shot in Stevens Point!
