Erin and Ben had a windy wedding at Fremont River Deck where the sun was shining almost as bright as Erin’s smile.
Erin and Ben are married! I got to the hotel where the girls were getting ready a little early. It had rained enough the few days before that I wanted to check out our planned first look and portrait location in case it was too soggy but it was great. That meant I didn’t have to location scout somewhere new so I headed in to the conference room. The team from Wellness 360 had the girls pretty much ready which meant we were already ahead of schedule.
With a lot of photos being done before the ceremony this was such a bonus. Erin and her bridesmaids all had time to relax before the day got going further. When Erin got in her absolutely stunning gown there was team effort in getting everything to sit perfectly. The sisters had this under control. Oh My Lanta was she ever gorgeous.
After a few tears at the dad reveal we headed to the park where her Ben was waiting so patiently. Peeps, I know a first look isn’t for everybody but for this couple it was absolutely the right choice. Usually it’s the groom’s reaction that we’re focusing on, right. Ben was certainly happy and so happy to see his bride, but it was Erin’s expressions that stood out to me. When Ben looked at her, her smile turned from a little bit of excitement mixed with nerves to giddy radiance. She had no nerves, no reservations, she was just pure joy and excitement to be with Ben on their wedding day.
Let’s get to the ceremony…
We got bridal party photos done there at the park too and then we were off to the River Deck for the ceremony. Of course the wind picked up a bit but Erin’s veil stayed in place (always put in extra bobby pins my friends) and nothing blew away. I’ve had plenty of couples do the aisle dip thanks to good ol’ TikTok trends but Erin and Ben absolutely nailed it.
We had a some large family photo groups to do then they got to go to cocktail hour. The reception was fun and upbeat as one would expect. Fremont River Deck can present one challenge for DJ’s when the weather is good. The deck area is so pretty that of course people hang out there. It can make it hard to get the dance floor full. I’m so sorry I forgot the DJ’s first name but Sound Sensations did a great job getting the floor going.
One of my favorite parts of the reception personally was right after sunset photos. There had been a lot of little things for Erin and Ben to have to do that pulled them away from the dance floor which was where they wanted to be. But there was one thing left and that was cutting the cake. We could have waited for the nice knife and cake server to be retrieved from whoever’s car it was in. We sure could have. But I knew they just wanted it done and they have a little bit of silliness in them. So I said “why don’t you just each grab a fork and dig right it” and Erin said “Yes! That. Let’s do that.” It was so fun and so cute!
Alright, you’re not here to read my blabber. One more thing though….
Were you a guest?
If you were a guest at this wedding, or in the wedding party, and forgot to grab a card or snap the QR code, you can still request your guest gallery here! Once I deliver all the photos to the bride and groom, I’ll send you a link to the guest gallery. It will include the parts of the day guests were present and the blog photos. It’ll be a few weeks, but worth the wait!
