Lauren + Isaac | Fall Wedding

Lauren and Isaac had a gorgeous fall wedding at Camp Lakotah in Wautoma on an incredible day.

The last wedding on my schedule this year was a stunner! Everything about this day from the weather to the dress to all the amazing people made this fall wedding so very special. It was t-shirt weather at the end of October so that alone is something to remember!

I was so pleasantly surprised when I pulled into camp that morning. Sometimes camps can be a little underwhelming in the fall because a lot of them are filled with pines trees. The reception halls are often dark and very … blah. Not the case for either at Camp Lakotah! The woods is heavy in oak trees that were still holding on to their deep rusty leaves. Windows take up a whole wall of the hall which has high ceilings and big chandeliers. It’s just lovely.

Walking up to the “girls’ cabin” I immediately got to meet Lauren’s mom. She was on the porch popping a champagne bottle. Lauren had all her details ready for me and then I got to see the dress. Oh my goodness! A beautiful vintage lace gown that seemed to be made for her. I loved shooting it of course, but I could not wait to see it on her. When her dad got to see her it was just the sweetest moment! Let’s not forget the guys. They were ready way ahead of schedule and spent the morning just sitting around the firepit waiting patiently for ceremony time.

Let’ do this…

The simple ceremony in the woods was sweet and personal. The girls were looking amazing in their rust colored satin dresses. Absolutely perfect for a fall wedding, or any time of year really! The guys cleaned up pretty good too:) Bridal party pictures were really fun, at least from my point of view. Kudos to the commitment from the guys on the cheering shots. They nailed it. Walking around through the colorful trees and beautifully filtered light made everything a breeze. The best part was the couple times I was taking shots of just Lauren. Isaac just stood staring at her like she was the only other person in the world.

Can we talk about dinner now? Speeches were the perfect length and funny. Little sister Iris even nailed hers and had all the guests laughing. Then a pasta bar with all the possibilities. You know I’m not passing that up! Those special dances are always fun to shoot and then the floor opened up. Peeps, this group knows how to get out on the floor and dance! I’m sure there were a ton of sore feet and missing voices on Sunday but it was all worth it!

Congratulations Lauren and Isaac! Your day was incredible and I was so very honored to be a part of it!
