Katie and Tyler’s late September wedding started out with booming thunder and ended in a gorgeous glow!
To bring the umbrellas or not to bring the umbrellas? That is the question. Not really though since I always have them in case but needing them was a real possibility for awhile there. Katie and Tyler were married in a church. That was a relief when the thunder during the getting ready portion of the day was shaking the ground! Katie thought it was perfect that there was rain on the wedding day, especially since the radar said that rain would be done and gone before the outdoor activities began!
Fall was in the air though it was still a bit toasty outside. The bridesmaids had gorgeous satin gowns in a deep rusty color and the guys were very happy Tyler was the only one with a suit jacket. Everyone was giddy while the ceremony drew near. We finally reached the time when Katie could get into her gown and her bridesmaids reaction to seeing her was the sweetest! They were also ready with touchup supplies when the tears started to well. Then they were ready with them again when dad got to see his daughter for the first time!
The church was simply decorated for the day and the pews were packed! The ceremony went beautifully. Their pastor was the one to play guitar and sing while they lit the unity candle so that was pretty cool. We rolled through family formals right on time and the bridal party was on the bus to the reception. I must applaud them for staying clean and dry on the ride there since we had photos to do. Great job, bridal party!
Oh the photos! I think it’s safe to say the organized photo parts of the day weren’t what Tyler was looking forward to the most. He did it all for her and who wouldn’t? Just look at how gorgeous she is! The Barn is a lovely little spot with some fun areas to add some variety. We moved around and got everything we needed in plenty of time for Katie and Tyler to join the cocktail hour before dinner.
Party time!!!
Three Guys and a Grill did an awesome job catering the 200ish people in attendance. There were numerous speeches for these high school sweethearts that were funny and sweet with only a few tears working their way out. The party then moved from the tent into the actual barn for some beam shaking dances and a glow sticks for all the kiddos! I sure hope I get to come back here soon!
Katie and Tyler, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your day! Best wishes to you for all the adventures to come!
