Chloe and Lucas had a beautiful September wedding with a reception right on the farm, cows and all!
This is a special one guys! I’ve been acquainted with Chloe’s family for years through 4-H, FFA, and just general small town life. On Lucas’s side I met him years ago when I did his senior pictures, some Edelburg family photos. Now I am happy to have him be one of our butchers. I put both of them in the category of salt of the earth people and good to the core. Both of their families are in that box too.
First Baptist Church was packed on Saturday. It was standing room only by ceremony time. The guys had all remained clean after getting ready and being delivered to church in a unique method of transportation. The girls were all looking fabulous in their dusty blue with cowboy boots and sunflower bouquets. A perfect fall vibe! Simple traditional vows were said, Carrie sang one of my favorite love songs, and rings were placed on the fingers they’ll live on from now until forever.
Load ’em up and roll out!
We got to the farm ready to have some fun taking pictures. Chloe’s four brothers were on prop management duty so tractors could be placed where I wanted them. There were some acrobatics performed by a bridesmaid willing to climb up on a tractor hood. The group did a great job doing the ring around the rosy shot I have come to love doing. And while I was doing photos of just the girls, the brothers got the cows to the front yard quickly. Now they did give a Lucas a fiery red head to handle while Chloe’s was much more manageable. I suspect that might have been some new to the family hazing.
I’m sure the decorating took half a village because after a week of heavy rains, there was really no muddy spots that weren’t covered in wood chips. They had everything around the reception shed looking really nice. It’s a good thing they had a big machine shed because there were a ton of people ready to party the night away to celebrate the Edelburgs! There was a lot of laughter during speeches, which happened before dinner was served. I was so glad they agreed to do it that way because then we got to go out for some great sunset photos!
A tradition that could come back…
Can we bring back the traditional, funny, Midwest grand march more often? Being announced at dinner entrance is great and all. But when there’s a couple whose wedding party plans out a fun grand march to open the dance floor, I know we’re in for a Par-tay! The floor was packed. The night was beautiful. Somehow the bees and bugs were under control. This was a great day and I hope Chloe and Lucas can look back on their photos for decades and remember all the good feelings.

There aren’t a ton of vendors to tag because they did so much themselves including the food, the flowers, and the venue. Dairyland Moosic was an awesome DJ (you can find them on FB) and cousin Miranda made a ton of amazing cupcakes. (Which I thoroughly enjoyed the next day as well from the box that was put in my wagon to take home!)
