Megan + Tyler – Tansy Hill Wedding

Megan and Tyler had a picture perfect summer wedding at Tansy Hill Farm in Wausau, WI.

I have so many good things to say about Megan and Tyler’s Tansy Hill wedding I had a hard time deciding what to highlight first. Details are fun and the venue is a big factor, but what really makes a wedding day special is the people, and this wedding had some great people involved.

Megan and Tyler are both smart, kind, driven individuals and they balance each other very well. Both are in the medical field and have created long lasting friend groups as evidenced by their wedding party. It turns out Tyler is also a natural dress fluffer and grass picker outer. He did it a lot that day for his beautiful bride. The families and friends of these two were all so joyful at the opportunity to be a part of this celbration it was a lovely testament to who they all are. I know some of them put in a lot of hard work to help prepare for teh day as well. And the guest attire – this group stepped it up! Even the vendors Megan and Tyler chose for their weddign were all a delight to work with.

Now the wedding part…

I’ve never been to Tansy Hill before and let me tell you, it was beautiful! The owners have abviously been working their hineys off all summer to keep the flowers looking fabulous through this drought and the barn and sitting areas were all just gorgeous. The view from this top of the hill venue is incredible. The girls dresses were a variety of styles, all in the same champagne color of satin. Very elegant, very bridal. And then Megan’s dress, oh good heavens. Besides being a perfect fit for her, it was the perfect fit for the day. Light and summery, a lace overlay with a ruffled train. Beauty in every detail. The guys in their navy suits were all looking sharp, even when they were a little glistened with sweat from the heat of the day. All a bunch of troopers ready to bear the heat and do their best to make the day great!

The ceremony was toasty, but we had a little tiny breeze that helped a little with that. When the vows were said and the marriage was official, everyone grabbed their chair and moved them up to the barn for dinner. We took some time to get a few more gorgeous bridal portraits before some family formals and then Megan and Tyler got to spend some time with their wonderful guests before dinner.

On to the party!!!

I don’t know about you, but in my world food is part of the party. Dinner was catered by Jim Adamus Catering who did barbecued pork and chicken on site. It was delicious. Speeches were funny and sweet. The treat table was hit hard since word spread fast everything on it was gluten free and delicious. Before long the DJ brought them out for the first dance of the evening. Their choreographed first dance. It was awesome and they nailed it! The dance floor was immediately full and I gotta say, this group dances for real. They were swinging and spinning and waltzing around like crazy.

Then the rainbow happened! I’m sure most couples who have a Tansy Hill wedding have a beautiful night, but not everyone gets a rainbow with it! My wonderful second shooter for the day, Emily, came and found me on the dance floor to let me know there was one. We found Megan and Tyler and rushed out to the edge of the lawn where the view was unobstructed from them to the most vibrant rainbow I have ever shot. It was the icing on the gluten free cake that made this wedding just a little extra. The dancing continued after that and I’m sure long after I left.

Megan and Tyler – you had a beautiful day to start what I’m sure will be an amazing life together. I loved every minute of being there and am so honored to have been a part of it! Now, some highlight pix for viewing pleasure!
