A horse crazy senior session in Waupaca, WI
Every year I have a few sessions ideas in my head that I would love to do. I’m pretty sure I will have to be a photographer for a very long time before my very first session of the year is this much of a dream again! I absolutely love when seniors include animals in their photos and when Kloe said she also wanted to have her prom dress on for some pictures, I was almost afraid to suggest we combine the two. (I have a little fear of rejection.) But I did and she was all for it and cue the angelic harp music in your head!
Then the forecast for days leading up to this session was cloudy and possible rain. I told myself it was fine. I really don’t mind cloudy days or a few sprinkles but I had beautiful golden hour light in my head for this. And we got it! It was gorgeous all day! And to top it off, she’s just adorable. If you can’t tell, she loves the color yellow so that paired real well with our beautiful light and grassy fields!
There was a decent entourage involved here that helped a lot. Kloe’s mom, best friend and boyfriend were all along. She’ll definitely be in the running for the Biggest Entourage Raspberry Award at the end of the year. Audrey that owns the stables was key in making all the dreamy horse shots come together. And I had an assistant for the first time ever. I feel so grown up!
I am going to try to keep the number of images in this post to a reasonable amount, but it’s gonna be tough. There are so many that I absolutely love! I’m already thinking about what page they’ll be on in next year’s session guide magazine!
If you haven’t followed me yet on Instagram and Snapchat (@racheljensenphoto and rachel.jens ), you really should. We had some fun behind the scenes going on during this shoot!
Enjoy!
