A Classic Wisconsin Wedding
Oh, man did I love this day. Dana and Ryan’s wedding had all the feels of a couple good ol’ Wisconsin families coming together to celebrate. Cold weather, a beautiful church, cattle in a few photos, trucks in a few photos, and a polka band cheered on by barefoot girls flying around the floor! Not to mention a beautiful bride and groom with a ball cap most the time – but never in church.
I have been looking forward to this wedding for a year now. I am so happy they were able to still have most everything they wanted for their day even with pandemic issues affecting the country. Limited people in the church was the biggest change. St. Mary’s Mount Carmel is a beautiful Catholic Church with the steeple high above the country oaks.
This wedding party though! It was cold, right around 40 degrees but with a chilly wind. They didn’t really care. We were at Ryan’s folks house and as long as we could make pictures fun, they were game. I think the groomsmen were actually more excited about photos than the bridesmaids. Of course, the groomsmen had trucks so…. yeah that makes sense. When we did bridal portraits Dana was shaking she was so cold but it was so worth it. They have some absolutely gorgeous photos for their wall!
A live band is just plain fun at a wedding. I love the moment when the first polka comes on and when the dance floor opened to everyone that was the first song. And the second. The Grand March had some fun twists too. I was kind of bummed to be done but I was definitely excited to get home and look at all the shots from this day!
Enjoy some of my faves!
