Ashley and Chad’s unseasonably warm wedding at St. Paul’s Lutheran and Symco Thesheree Grounds.
Ashley and Chad are finally married! The week before this wedding had a bunch of twists in it for the whole family. On Friday Grandpa Bob passed away. Although we always prefer our loved ones to be at our events in person, we all know Grandpa Bob was still there on Saturday. I bet he was much more comfortable from the seat he’s got now. Still, dealing with loss in the family is not what a bride and groom want to be doing the week of their wedding.
This wedding was like a homecoming for me. It’s the first ceremony I got to shoot in my home church of St. Paul’s Lutheran. I spent a lot of time in those pews and got married there nearly 12 years ago. It was a warm one that day too, but not quite as hot as it was this past Saturday! Everyone was thankful for a breeze and the church staff that had the air conditioning cranked!
Back to Ashley and Chad….
I got to church early to go downstairs and check in with all the girls in the choir room. Oh wait, it’s the youth room now. Things change right! Katie was doing hair and make up was looking great. The bridesmaids had it all together and ready. Ashley’s gorgeous dress with its sparkly (and surprisingly heavy) belt was hanging right where the dresses hang in that room, ready to be worn down a very long aisle to a waiting groom!
Neither Chad or Ashley are super emotional people. I do think I saw a little wetness in Chad’s eye when the double doors opened at the back of church. Ashley’s dad escorted her down the aisle. She was gorgeous with her sparkling white dress, mid length veil and a bouquet of beautiful flowers from The Wild Vine. The ceremony was a full service, complete with hymns played on the organ and prayers with the congregation. Again, very thankful for A/C!
Time for the Party…
After the ceremony was done it was party time. Seeing as the reception was at the Thresheree Grounds, what better transport than the Unionville Trolly? The wedding party hopped on there and headed out to celebrate before getting to Symco.
It was a full shed for dinner! Crystal Falls supplied great food including stuffing and gravy! That makes this girl happy! In true Thresheree fashion, the picnic tables outside were full and the bartenders were never bored. Kids played on the playground while the dance floor was cleared. The Grand March even started on time. After speeches by the Maid of Honor and the Best Man the dance floor filled up quick. I can only assume the party went on long after I packed up and headed home.
Thank you Ashley and Chad for allowing me to be part of your day!
