Susan and Tom’s small ceremony at Victory Church and reception at Par 4 in Waupaca, Wisconsin.
Susan and Tom met with me a few months ago to discuss the plans for their upcoming wedding. A simple ceremony at their church, a nice reception with those closest to them at Par 4 where Tom also works, fresh flowers and good food and the best company. A day for them to begin a new chapter, together. Susan giggled like a teenager in love and her eyes sparkled just looking at him. He chuckled at her, made his jokes about just needing to know when to show up, and got a few stories thrown into the conversation. He reminded quite a lot of my dad in that meeting; easy to laugh, ready with a joke or story, and willing to leave all the planning to the bride! It was probably unintentional, but I was left feeling like Tom’s only mission in life from here on out is to make her happy. I imagine that’s the feeling everyone gets when they’re around the two of them. It’s apparent in minutes.
The Wedding Day…
It was all classic navy with blue and white flowers for the wedding. Susan looked so elegant in her navy gown with sparkles and Tom cleaned up pretty darn well too. They had a beautiful Memorial Day weekend, the first with no rain at all since 2009 we found out. The small chapel at the church fit them just right. A message from their pastor who clearly knows them well was sweet and meaningful.
The little Fairway building was bright and cheery, full of chatter and stories and well wishes. The cake was a sight to see with it’s handmade vintage golfers cake topper to show off one of their passions. Dancing ensued once dinner was through and I hope it carried on for long after I was gone.
Congratulations Susan and Tom!
A big thank you to all the people who helped make it a special day including, but of course not limited too;
Blooming Envy for the flowers.
Par 4 for the reception and catering.
