Sidney and Bryce had a small wedding on Valentine’s Day in the historic Third Ward of Milwaukee.
It was a winter wedding but a warm day in Milwaukee with the ice breaking up on the river and the snow piles melting away where the sun could reach them. The Third Ward was packed with people taking advantage of the spring like weather. Onesto’s restaurant was overflowing with patrons on the main floor but the event space above was being prepared for a much more intimate experience. While the event coordinator was putting tables in place and Ashley was decorating with framed photos and simple final touches, Sidney and Bryce were preparing to commit to forever.
They were doing this at home after a quiet morning of wedding movies and reading their vows to each other in complete privacy. When they arrived at Onesto’s after being stood up by Uber on their wedding day, Sidney and Bryce were looking relaxed and absolutely stunning. After a moment with their parents to give them a few gifts, they were out the door again. That’s where I really come in.
Photo Time!
We headed down to the banks of the Milwaukee River, only a block away. The light had that perfect winter haze to it and it was warm enough for Sidney to go with or without the shawl. Glowy backlit river photos, Milwaukee sklyline shots and an old grungy alleyway gave us all we needed – and had time for – in that half hour.
The time had come for Sidney and Bryce to get married. Brother-in-law Sam was ready to as the officiant. There was no wedding party to worry about, no coordinating of ring bearers and flower girls, nothing to distract at all from the couple at the front of the little space. Kerrigan and Hayden signed the marriage certificate right during the ceremony and when Sidney and Bryce walked the few steps back down the aisle it was official.

All the guests in attendance then gathered up around the bar on the other side of the room while the ceremony space was flipped for dinner. The cake was cut, the speeches were spoke, the dinner was served. An amazing dinner by the way, could you ever go wrong with italian?
Shortly after dinner four of us took to the streets of Milwaukee one more time. That was of course Sidney and Bryce along with me and my very own Valentine hubby who was making his debut as lightman. (Thank you dear, couldn’t have done it without you.) Our first plan didn’t quite workout due to the overwhelming number of people out and about. We did hold up some folks for about two minutes while we grabbed an elevator shot. Then we embraced the streetlights of the Third Ward and I loved it.
When we got back to Onesto’s the short reception time was wrapping up and the party was moving elsewhere. All the planning and stress was done. Sidney and Bryce were so happy, I am so happy for them, and I can’t wait to deliver all their images to them!
Were you a guest?
If you were a guest at this wedding, or in the wedding party, and forgot to grab a card or snap the QR code, you can still request your guest gallery here! Once I deliver all the photos to the bride and groom, I’ll send you a link to the guest gallery. It will include the parts of the day guests were present and the blog photos. It’ll be a few weeks, but worth the wait!
