Olivia and Dawson had a rainy but perfect day for their wedding at St. Mary Magadalene’s and Cedar Creek Hotel Conference Center.
Olivia and Dawson are married! When I woke up to gloomy skies and a radar full of spots lasting throughout the day I thought, “Olivia and Dawson are just the right couple to embrace this.” For one thing, their ceremony inside a beautiful church and their reception indoors at Cedar Creek Hotel meant the rain didn’t matter too much. And as far as pictures go, it rained the whole time for their engagement session and they didn’t bat an eye. If you want to see what that end result was check it out here. Olivia and Dawson – Engaged. I just had to hope that their wedding party would be as care free as they are.
I got my wish there. This wedding party was awesome and they looked good! The end of summer tones throughout the dresses, suits, and flowers brought it all together for a gorgeous September day. The ceremony was so personal and super well attended by the way. Olivia and Dawson both rely heavily on their faith to build and maintain their relationship. They clearly have a support system of family and friends who are of the same values and beliefs.
Olivia and Dawson and their awesome wedding party…
Then it was time to head to the reception but the party bus had to stop for photos first. It rained the whole way from Waupaca to Iverson Park. After being there a few minutes the rain let up and this wedding party was on it. We grabbed the umbrellas and the drinks and headed out into the soaking wet grass. Not one worry or complaint out of this whole group. The bottoms of dresses were soaked. They didn’t care. The shoes were sopping wet. No worries, they all had boots to change into. There were still some sprinkles falling and full size droplets coming from the trees. Eh, it’s just water.
Olivia and Dawson’s portraits are going to be in my faves for awhile! Olivia looked so stunning in her dress! The no frill satin is just the right blend of simple and bridal. Dawson cleaned up pretty well himself and they fit together so perfectly it’s ridiculous. Okay, back on the bus and time to party! Talk about timing – they got on the bus, I got in my van and before I pulled out of the parking the skies opened up and it poured again.
Alright, I’ll wrap it up. Taco dinner was a hit. The speeches were so sweet. It was the first time I’ve photographed speeches where the maid of honor had to call in back up to read a little bit because she was crying happy tears too much. She did take back over to have a little prayer time with them. The Best Man did a great job too. The first dances were top notch and then the band started up! Gotta love a good band with a big party. A very vibrant sunset was happening in the parking lot and we caught just a a quick few minutes of that too before Olivia and Dawson presumably danced the rest of the night away!
Just one more thing before the scroll point you’ve been looking for…

Once I deliver all the photos to the bride and groom, I’ll send you a link to the guest gallery. It will include the parts of the day guests were present and the blog photos.
