There was wedding in Weyauwega! Miranda and Mike are married!
I know I talk about the weather a lot, blame the old farmer in me. But the wild ride the weather provided on this day was crazy. In the morning it looked like it was going to be great. And then…
The plan was to do a lot of photos before the ceremony at the Miranda’s folks’ house. Guys, when I got there it was nice out with just a hefty breeze. By the time we would have been going outside the wind was so strong it was just not doable. The hair stylists are amazing but even they couldn’t pull of a style that would stand up to these gusts. So it was a first look in the most sheltered area we could find outside and then just off to church to do indoor portraits. The wind didn’t stop but the day went on.
Time to get married!
The ceremony was lovely with just a small number of family invited and a pastor who knows them well. St. Peter’s Church is beautiful and the musicians Miranda and Mike had there playing sounded phenomenal. I love love love live music at a ceremony! I also love that as soon as Miranda and Mike were standing at the altar you could see how everything else from the day melted off and they were just there in that moment. The way he looks at her is the purest thing ever!
Walking out of the ceremony the sky looked pretty dark. Most of us got to our vehicles before the rain hit. Then the entire through short ride to Fremont it poured. Like wipers on full blast. By the time we pulled up to River Deck it was down to a sprinkle so we ran out for some more photos outside. That lasted five minutes until the wind picked up so strongly there were things blowing off the docked boats and being plunged into the Wolf. To wrap up the weather talk – that ended fairly soon, the sun peeked out, and we got some early sunset photos later on. Crazy crazy day.
Miranda and Mike wanted a wedding that was not too stuffy and not so same old same old. So they did not have a sit down dinner. Tables were out and the buffet line was open from 5 to 7. The mac and cheese was awesome. Forget the cake, that’s not them. They had a soft serve ice cream bar and slushie machines. The whole day was about the families and these families have a lot of kids. The kids were happy. So were the adults because let’s be honest, we all love ice cream.
The live music for the reception was awesome. A one man band and he did a fabulous job. The reception was full of family and friends who were so happy to be there. It was a great party! Also – grandpa is 91 and still has the moves out there on the floor!
Guests – Did you miss the guest gallery cards? You can still request to receive the images from the ceremony and reception here!
