Chloe and Lucas had a fall engagement session with the colors in full pop and plenty of critter photo bombers!
After Plan A for the proposal just didn’t work out, Chloe and Lucas got engaged right in the middle of milking time with one friend to video and all the bovine beauties around to see it happen! I’m going to go off on a bit of an aside. With all the social media influence I personally think proposals have gotten way over the top for a lot of people. If that’s your thing it’s fine. But the moment you ask your person to be yours forever is about the two of you, not about how many social followers will tap the like or share on your announcement post. I love that Chloe and Lucas got engaged in the parlor and someday if they have kids or grandkids, those little buggers are think it’s awesome!
Rant over. Moving on. For their engagement session we kept it local. Like right in their backyard pasture type of local. Lucas seems to bring photo bombers with him to sessions. Many years ago when I got to take his senior pictures we had cats doing their business right in the shots. This time we had cows and mom’s dog that were convinced the afternoon was about them. Chloe laughed it right off with him though and honestly, it made for some memories!
Now about the session…
Hiking up to the top of the hills in the pasture was obviously the best choice. The fall colors were in full splendor AND we had skies threatening to drop some liquid which made the colors feel extra poppy. The whole scenario is what most people are hoping for when they say they want fall colors. It actually inspired me to announce to my family when I got home that the following evening we would be taking family photos!
Getting to hang out with Chloe and Lucas was a highlight of my week. They’re both incredibly hardworking and down to earth people. Chloe’s got two jobs keeping her busy. One in health care and one on her brothers farm. Probably two of the most stressful careers I can imagine. And Lucas is running his own business now and helping on the farm. If you have some market animals to be processed, give FrontPage Processing a call! I’ll be seeing him again in a couple weeks when it’s time to put pork in the freezer.
In a little less than a year they will be saying their vows and tying that knot! Congratulations Chloe and Lucas, I cannot wait to celebrate with you!

Beautiful! I love how ya did this! Congratulations! Miss ya!
